3.14159...

Today AJ, Tom, and I decided to check out what kinds of secret treasures we could discover on the side of Clearwater Bridge. Turns out all those rocks hide a whole bunch of super cool stuff. I'm talkin 10+ random flip flops, buckets, metal scraps, beach balls, sippy cups, pencils, tennis balls, beer bottles, and a ton of driftwood. We made some sculptures with it all but I forgot to take pictures.

While I was searching through the rocks I found this piece of driftwood that looked exactly like the Pi symbol, you know, 3.14 and all that jazz. So here's what I did with it. I swam out to that pylon underneath the bridge, and wrote 3.14 in chalk right above that cool stick. I wonder if it's still there...

Waiting at the Dentist's Office

Here's my latest painting, titled "Waiting at the Dentist's Office". You know the feeling. Everything is almost too sterile, the water cooler is too cool, or you want to read the old magazines everyone talks about, but decide not to because everyone already talked about what was in those old magazines. Also, you never know what the dentist is going to tell you once you're sitting in his chair, on HIS turf. Respect. Floss.

The faces are all one line. 15"x20"

Also, check out the latest SpokenThreads shirt. You know you wanna. I got plenty of sketches to show all yawl next time around but until then...

IRB Skate Shop-DAY THREE

Today we finna worked on "the SPOT" going behind the counter.
Me to the left, Tom to the right checking out the scene like a worried prairie dog. We're just laying it out like it's our business.
After some delicious turkey clubs we worked with it until the end. We had to change up the letters because we didn't expect that wall to be so squished, but I think it turned out pretty sick. The security guard of the church came in from the torrential downpours going on outside to see what was up, and he says "Which one of you clowns is the artist?". As Tom and I started to raise our hands he cuts in, "I just can't read what it says! What does it say? Huh?" Now I'm not sure if this guy had serious vision problems or what, but we kept it as simple as possible and he still couldn't read it. Hahaha it was awesome.
Tom to the left, me to the right. We're havin a victory counter-sit experience. The best part is we have around 30+ cans of paint left over, and they're gonna let us paint on other walls around the youth center. Woo! I'll be poppin those pics up as soon as it happens.
Oh yeah, we didn't know the marker board going under 3 vs. 3 would be this small. I thought it was pretty hilarious.
Happy appliances? Check.
There's what we've got done so far, aything else we add later is extra. The skateshop opens this coming friday, I'll get some coverage on that faux fur faux real.

IRB Skateshop DAY TWO

B-b-b-b-b-back for more today after crunchin our brains at school. A lot of people stopped in today to see what was up. Now some of Tom's friends want us to paint their apartment in Tallahassee and the youth pastor wants us to paint his spare bedroom. You'll definitely be seeing that later, but for now...
I did this 16 foot high rat casually snaggin skateboards off of fishhooks. Das' it.
Tom finished his skates grinding it up.
And before we left I made sure the appliances were happy.

This week we should have everything done. I'll post more flicks so you can see everything a little better, but for now just take it all in. Peace.

Indian Rocks Beach Skateshop DAY ONE

My cousin, Tom, introduced me to a super nice guy named Braden, and he and some other members of IRB Church wanted us to paint the cool little skateshop they plan on opening for their cool little skatepark. They paid for 82 cans of some good ole Montana Alien, and we were pretty much allowed to do whatever.

I'm not sure how garage doors can get so dirty. That's Tom holding up just one of the rags we used to clean all that sticky dirt off. Woo!
Yeash yeash yeash we're talkin purple, green, and white punchin your eyes. Turned out pretty sick.
I ended up doing a massive 16 foot tall crazy guy eatin whoever decides to walk through his mouth.
That's so you know how big it is. That's Tom to the left and Braden to the right. I'm behind the lens, haha.
Tom was workin on some big freakin rollerblades, obviously this is just part of his progress.
The pastor of the church requested we put this up next to the basketball court for all the 8 foot tall youth group kids, and a 3 vs. 3 thing for a sign-up board going underneath the arrow. You can probably tell it was getting close to the end of my day when I finished those 3's. No worries.
Before we left, Tom and I made sure the trash was happy. :D

Basically, Braden supplied us with food and drinks whenever we needed anything, and he even let us skate the skatepark for a good hour or so. Not a bad deal, huh? More from Day Two comin up.
